Once you’ve got the basics of weekly meetings right, it’s time to take things further and make them a real driver of accountability and action.

At Smart Workforce Solutions, we dedicate part of our weekly meetings to reviewing our 90-day goals alongside the year’s objectives. It keeps everyone focused on meaningful milestones rather than getting lost in the day-to-day. We also take a few minutes to share feedback — from clients, employees or partners. Positive or constructive, it’s all valuable and helps us refine how we work.

Accountability is a major part of our process. Each week, we revisit the to-do list from the previous meeting. Did everyone follow through on what they committed to? If not, what support do they need? We also hear from our Training Manager, who shares progress on upskilling initiatives. It’s a great way to keep learning and development front of mind.

Another important piece is risk management. We regularly review our business rules and resilience strategies to make sure we’re prepared for whatever might come our way. To spark open conversations, every team member scores the business from one to ten across key areas like financial health, brand strength and employee engagement. These ratings often lead to some of the most valuable discussions.

Finally, we end with a reality check. Were the meeting’s rules followed? Did it deliver value? Everyone gives it a score out of ten, which keeps us honest and ensures the process keeps improving.

The result? Meetings that don’t just talk about issues but actively solve them, building alignment, trust and momentum.
